KNOCKOUTS

The Quarter Final draws of the Team and Hotshots knockouts along with the Preliminary draws of the Ladies and Veterans are now available and have been issued by email to anyone registered with us for emails.  If you wish to be added to the list, please let us know.

The proposed Knockout format for the season is: Format

This will be adhered to where possible, if you have any issues with any of these dates please make sure you notify Nathan Wilby so we can try to ensure everything runs smoothly.

ATTENTION DIVISION 3 TEAMS!!!

The Crown (Leeds Rd Dews) as left the league with immediate effect. All points from matches played have been removed.  Please amend your Fixtures accordingly

ATTENTION DIVISION 4 TEAMS!!!

Firstly, apologies that your amended fixtures for the remainder of the season were not correct at the meeting, unfortunately I never considered the three venues in Division Four who also have teams within the rest of the league and this caused some major clashes - Thank you to the observant person who let us know, you know who you are!!

I have now managed to work out some fixtures which are fair to you all, you all play each other home and away for the remainder of the season with any points from these matches being added to any points you accrued in the first half of the season.  We thought it was only fair for any points accrued at the halfway stage to stay in place as all teams have played the same amount of games against the same opponents as any points gained against teams who have pulled out have been removed.

The fixtures have been fully updated across the website with extra weeks added in on the "Results" tab.  You will see that the weeks which had been reserved for knockouts now include matches for some of you and there will still be a couple of free weeks for each of you, just maybe not where they originally were.  There is no way to get around this as it is purely down to working around when the three shared venues other teams are scheduled to be home or away.

I have emailed out the below document which details clearly who and where you are playing each week.  If you have any issues or queries, please let me know ASAP.

Can ALL eight teams please acknowledge that they are aware of these new fixtures as we have already had issues tonight with some teams not receiving messages and not knowing what they were doing.

Thank you and thank you for your patience with what has been a very difficult first have of the season for you all.

Sheets are acceptable be way of Picture Message, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger to the Birstall District Pool League "person" on Facebook - if you are not already a "friend" please send a request and of course by email.

MATCH CONDUCT

There have been a few separate reports in recent times to the Committee about teams arriving at away venues and not respecting the rules of the venue/landlord.  Can we please remind all teams that when you go to play away, the rules of the venue are there to be adhered to i.e. if there are signs re No Swearing, please try to calm your language and respect other customers, likewise if there are any signs regarding the use of illegal substances, please do not do it on their premises (ideally don't do it anywhere regardless of if there are signs or not!!).

All matches are to be played in a sporting manner in accordance with Rule 33 of the BDPL rules and this covers all aspects of the night from the way you treat your opposing players, other customers, the bar staff, landlord and venue as a whole.

Any incidents which are reported to the Committee will be investigated and any evidence of wrongdoing will result in action being taken by the Committee including expulsion from the league.
